Bike stand

All Allen Keys appropriate to your Stem bolts. Grease.
Remove the fork
1.REMOVE STEM TOP CAP AND LOOSEN STEM BOLTS
Refer to Stem manufaturers instructions
2.REMOVE STEM, HEADSET TOP CAP AND BEARING RACE
Ensure that you support the weight of the fork, so that it does not fall
3.REMOVE FORK
Have the fork supported on a surface, keeping the brake and gear cables safe
Change top Heasdest bearing position
4.REMOVE TOP BEARING FROM THE FRAME
Pull out the bearing by hand. You will see the bottom surface has two tabs that sit in the frame slots
5.ROTATE THE BEARING 180 DEGREES
Turn the bearing so the tabs are in opposite orientation. See the images below to choose between slack or steep setting
6.INSERT THE BEARING INTO THE FRAME
Apply fresh grease to the bearing. Ensure that the tabs fit securely into the frame slots

SLACK SETTING
THICK part of the bearing to the FRONT of the bike

STEEP SETTING
THIN part of the bearing to the FRONT of the bike
CHANGE BOTTOM HEADSET BEARING POSTION
7.REMOVE THE BOTTOM BEARING
The Bearing will be on the fork steerertube, or located in the frame.
8.ROTATE THE BEARING 180 DEGREES
Turn the bearing so the tabs are in opposite orientation. See the images below to choose between slack or steep setting
9.INSERT THE BEARING INTO THE FRAME
Apply fresh grease to the bearing. Ensure that the tabs fit securely into the frame slots

STEEP SETTING
THICK part of the bearing to the FRONT of the bike
REPLACE THE FORK
10.INSERT FORK
Apply fresh grease to Crown Race
11.REPLACE HEADSET BEARING RACE AND TOP CAP
Apply fresh grease to bearing race and bearing
12.REPLACE STEM AND TOP CAP
Tighten bolts to manufacturers recommendations
